The International Betta Congress
together with the Betta Club Singapore organised a joint training
programme to certify IBC judges in Area 6 in 2005.
Multiple Warren Young award winner,
Dan Young, and IBC certification official, Ernie Perez journeyed from
the US down to Singapore to conduct the course and certify the first
batch of Area 6 IBC judges.
There were numerous fruitful
exchanges of ideas, views, practices and standards between the clubs in
the region and the IBC. IBC Halfmoon standards were emphasized
and reinforced, while the regional clubs and hobbyists contributed
much insight into the Plakat and Crowntail standards for Bettas.
It was an eye opener for all participants involved and culminated into
a more comprehensive overall standard for judging Bettas.
I am a certified IBC Area 6
Judge, and i thank the IBC, BettaClub Singapore and other clubs in the
region who sent representatives who made it such a blast!!!
